“Technology is amazing, but what it allows us to do from a pedagogical point of view is vital, as we firmly believe that technology should enhance the learning experience and not just be a gimmick,” clarifies Vipula Sharma, Digital Learning Coordinator.
Find out how the International School of Monaco relies on Shariiing to turn its immersive, collaborative classroom into a valuable pedagogical lever.
Looking for a collaborative teaching solution? Would you like to design an immersive classroom or enhance learning through technology? You’ve come to the right place.
In this article, find out more about the use of active pedagogy and collaborative digital tools in education. At the International School of Monaco, an immersive room equipped with the Shariiing solution is transforming the daily lives of teachers and students alike. An inspiring example of immersive education, focused on engagement, autonomy and collaboration in the classroom.

Meet Vipula Sharma, Digital Learning Coordinator, and Frederic Mondou, IT Director: a team deeply committed to immersive learning, an approach that is as ambitious as it is structured.
The tone is set for this feedback on our Shariiing collaborative solution for educational use.
ISM’s stated ambition is strong: “To provide an outstanding education for students aged 3 to 18, so that they become happy, confident, independent, multilingual and responsible citizens of the world.” So, in its quest for excellence for its students and teaching staff, the Monegasque school has acquired an immersive and collaborative room equipped with Shariiing in its new premises. The aim is to enrich teaching practices and promote active, interactive learning.
An immersive auditorium project designed into the new premises
The idea of an immersive classroom emerged as soon as the new buildings were designed. The project architect planned a dedicated room. The ISM team then set out to find the solution best suited to the intended educational uses.
It was in Bordeaux, in the Immersion showroom, that they discovered Shariiing during a demonstration: “We were blown away by the collaborative potential of the solution for our students”, recalls Vipula Sharma, Digital Learning Coordinator.
Compatibility between Shariing and Meta’s XR headsets thanks to Shariiing XR also represents a decisive advantage for the school, which is keen to develop immersive practices while maintaining consistency in its technology park.

A concrete and effective pedagogical use for this collaborative teaching tool

Today, the immersive room is an integral part of the ISM learning cycle. Teachers use it to propose targeted, visual and interactive activities. Shariiing‘s appeal lies as much in its ergonomics as in its practical applications in the classroom.
“With this installation, we are carrying out meaningful learning experiences as part of our research cycle. Students can work independently once we have created our ‘vertical learning walls’. Teachers can easily see what students are doing, so they can understand their learning and any mistakes or misunderstandings, and give them immediate feedback,” explains Frederic Mondou, IT Director.
The 7 independent touch screens installed in the room are particularly appreciated for their flexibility and ease of use. This enables several groups to work in parallel, in a collaborative but also autonomous dynamic.
What concrete impact has this classroom had? Here are the main benefits observed by the ISM teaching team.
What are the concrete benefits of Shariiing for education?
- Easy to work independently
Pupils use the screens to work independently, as part of school projects or activities. The large tactile video wall becomes a genuine medium for expression and knowledge-building, in line with the school’s educational project.
- Immediate visibility of students’ work
Teachers have an immediate overview of the work of each group or student, without having to be constantly on the move. This transparency not only makes it easier to monitor individual progress, but also to quickly identify misunderstandings, errors or specific needs.
- Real-time feedback from the teacher
Thanks to the interactivity of the Shariiing solution, feedback is given immediately, in the flow of the activity. This favors a reactive, student-centered approach to teaching, where error becomes a learning lever rather than a hindrance.
- 7 screens for simultaneous collaboration
The ability to use several screens in parallel and individually opens the way to a wide range of teaching scenarios: independent work groups, differentiated workshops, cross-presentations… The uses are numerous and adaptable to all levels of teaching.
- XR compatibility for an enriched immersive experience
Shariiing XR’s direct, native integration with mixed reality headsets was a decisive factor in the school’s choice of solution. This compatibility extends collaborative experiences into an immersive environment, in line with the school’s overall digital strategy.
- Guaranteed wow factor for visitors
In addition to its day-to-day educational use, the installation also generates enthusiasm among all visitors to the school. The immersive classroom also becomes a tool for promoting the school’s commitment to technology.

A seamless collaboration with Immersion

For this project at the service of innovative teaching practices, the International School of Monaco chose to work with Immersion for its innovation and responsiveness.
“The initial training was very useful and practical, and Immersion was always there to answer our questions. The collaborative video wall is very well designed and integrated, and is exactly what we were looking for,” says Frederic Mondou.
Intelligently integrating technology into teaching practices
“As a forward-looking school, we firmly believe in the targeted integration of technology to enhance our teaching and learning practices,” says Vipula Sharma.
As far as infrastructure is concerned, the establishment has strong constraints to guarantee security. Shariiing software was easily integrated into existing protocols: “We have a strong digital ecosystem, and decisions are never taken in a vacuum. All stakeholders are involved to ensure that we have a strategic plan for digital deployment. We are a “1:1 school”, with all teacher and student devices enrolled in a rigorous device management system. This allows us to maintain security protocols and facilitate the deployment of key platforms on devices as required,” explains Frederic Mondou.

“The technology – whether it’s the tactile video wall or the Shariiing collaborative solution – is amazing, but what it allows us to do from a pedagogical point of view is vital. We strongly believe that technology should enhance the learning experience and not just be a gadget” concludes Vipula Sharma.
You too can bring your immersive, collaborative classroom to life. Let’s talk about it.
